Tetrachloroethylene (PCE)

Name : Tetrachloroethylene

Chemical Formula: C2CL4
Relative Molecular Weight : 165.82
Synonym : Perchloroethylene; Vinylidene Chloride

Physical & chemical properties: Under normal temperature and pressure conditions, tetrachloroethylene is a colorless liquid with a scent of chloroform. Melting point: -22.2℃, boiling point: 121.2℃, and relative density: 1.615—1.625g/cm3. It is insoluble in water but soluble in various organic solvents such as ethanol and ether.

Applications: it is extensively used in the regeneration of oil-refining catalysts. It is an important auxiliary catalyst in the aromatics field of petrochemical industry.

Storage & transportation: Store in cool, dry and well-ventilated places. Keep containers closely tightened. Check the sealing for opened containers and keep upright to avoid leakage.
The tank car should be provided with suitable fire fighting equipments and leakage emergency tools. Fully comply with the local rules concerning hazardous cargos transportation.
